EMW COmmunity Library Read-a-thon

February 1 - April 28, 2018

We lose ourselves in books. We find ourselves in them too. For almost 2 years now, the EMW Community Library has curated a collection of wonderful books by and about traditionally marginalized communities. We've hosted weekly library hours, where everyone is welcome to come read, write, craft, and enjoy each other's company. Through these books and through each other, we're envisioning a more just, more creative, more loving future.

This Read-a-thon celebrates the second anniversary of our Community Library. Just as marathon runners raise funds for causes they care about, support the Community Library by creating a reading goal and helping us maintain this space.

How does it work?

1) Sign up as an individual OR as a team.
If you've got a workplace, a college class, a community organization, or a group of friends that loves to read, create a team and sign up to compete to read the most books and raise the most funds!

2) Create a fundraising goal.
We suggest a minimum of $50 for kids and $100 for adults, but it's up to you to challenge yourself!

3) Make a reading list!
EMW's Read-a-thon is all about reading books that align with our core values—including the empowerment of marginalized groups, self-love, and social justice. Swing by our Library Hours (Wednesdays 6 PM - 8 PM) to check out some of our books! Get a preview of our collection here.

4) Start reading!
The Read-A-Thon ends on Saturday, April 28th, on the official date of EMW Community Library's Second Anniversary. We'll be announcing the Read-a-thon winners—individuals and teams who have read the most books and raised the most money—at our anniversary celebration, so be sure to join us!
